God-like Behavior

“Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents.   Mostly what God does is love you.   Keep company with him and learn a life of love.  Observe how Christ loved us.  His love was not cautious but extravagant.  He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us.  Love like that”.   Eph. 5:1-2  Message Bible

God will not accept any of our excuses for not acting godly.   Our worthless excuses are often only ‘crutches’ to get us out of a lie, or a situation we’ve created.   God wants us to stop acting out of our flesh and start acting like Him.

How can I act like God?

There are many ways, but one is: “No man has ever seen God’ but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us”.  (I Jn 4:12 NIV)   This scripture destroys all of our worthless excuses for rude behavior.

We will act like God when we are filled with love towards others.  This scripture says that we can have the privilege of behaving like God, of showing others what God is like because His love is in us.

People can claim to be Christians and not have love.  Their actions speak louder than their words.   They say they love but act rude, hurtful, selfish, and ignore others by showing favoritism.  

God does NOT show favoritism, it is a sin; “….if you show favoritism, you sin…” (Js 2:9 NIV)

The greatest need of our day is for God to become visible to others. We are God’s ambassadors and we need to reflect His love to everyone!  (2 Cor. 5:20)

The world desperately needs to see Jesus.  They need a glimpse of His love in a painful and hopeless world.    

The only way people are going to see hope and love is through you!

No Favoritism.   No empty words.    

Action speaks louder than words.

A person learns more by watching than hearing.  You can preach and teach all you want but your actions will prove whether or not you will do what you say.   You are either truthful or a fake.  People are tired of double minded and double talking.

Your actions will speak for you!

“If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, “You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor”—well,  doesn’t this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?

 Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith?  Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him?”   James 2:3-5  NLT
