“Don't I have the right to do with you people of Israel what the potter did with the clay? You are in my hands just like clay in the potter's hands”. Jer. 18:6 GNT
As Christians we must believe in progressive growth. When God begins a work, the result there of must be to His satisfaction. He viewed the work of His Son on Calvary and was satisfied.
Is He satisfied with the progressive growth in your life?
This does not mean that our condition at a given moment is perfect morally, but it does mean that like a potter He is satisfied with our progress.
The basic thing God looks for in us is not the absence of flaws but the attitude of moldable clay. He can easily workout the flaws, but He cannot do a thing with clay that is hard, brittle and crumbly. Brittleness means there has been a hurt somewhere along the line and ‘you’ have not gotten over it.
“Lord, I want to be the best clay, soft and conformable to Your image. You ask, “Can I not….deal with you as this potter does?”” (Jer. 18:6)
“Yes, Lord, you can----abundantly and perfectly!”
“Yet we who have this spiritual treasure are like common clay pots, in order to show that the supreme power belongs to God, not to us.” 2 Cor. 4:7 GNT
