There is no greater curse upon the earth than empty religion.

In the spiritual sense, lukewarmness is a picture of indifference and compromise.
A show Christian tries to play the middle, they are double-minded. They are too cold to be hot and too hot to be cold. When you try to play the middle you will end up with nothing.
A double minded person tries to please both sides. They play both ends against the middle and will end up hearing the words of Jesus found in Rev. 3: 16; “…I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
Satan prizes a lukewarm Christian far above a cold hearted sinner.
Lukewarm is a picture of uselessness!
The lukewarm Christian has just enough of Jesus to satisfy an appearance of religion but not enough for eternal life.
Jesus is trying to warn us in Rev. 3 how deceptive it is to play the middle where we try to please both the world and Jesus!
Consider this: Judas was lukewarm, following Jesus enough to be called a disciple, but not giving his heart over to Jesus in fullness.
Did Judas make it to heaven?
What about Ananias and Sapphira, do you think they made it to heaven? (Acts 5:1-10)
Is your desires/interest divided between material things and spiritual things?
Lukewarm is a mixture!
