“ Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent.
But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.” Rev 3:3 NIV
A warning to the Church that is basically saying, you are not in darkness and that day should not overtake you as a thief. You are children of the light, therefore walk as children of the light.
I think it is wrong to just bury our heads in the sand and say, “there is no problems in the Church or deny sin exists in the Church or pretend everything is fine because we don’t want to change.
If we would be honest with ourselves we would ask the questions is there something wrong with me, is there something wrong with the Church? Is God pleased with His Church?
We can pretend everything is okay, pass the blame, live in denial or be quick to tell others they shouldn’t judge.
But I don’t want to be blind to the deception of Satan, live in denial or pretend all is well and not be opened to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Rev. 3:22
If there is something wrong or off course by a small degree, I want to be open so God can reveal it to my heart and show me.
David said in Ps 139:23, “Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!”
We all know that sin has found a home in the Church. In most churches Satan is not intimidated or threatened to be there.
When sin entered this world through man, Satan set up his throne on earth.
When the Church allows sin to dwell in the pews and/or on the platform or becomes worldly, Satan has the opening to set up his throne in that church.
We can pretend we are better than the ‘lost’ outside the church walls, but…..are we?
How many “Christians” will be left behind when Jesus comes?
I think it would be appropriate for Jesus to come back on a Sunday morning!
What a shock that would be to a lot of ‘show-Christians.”
How many “Christians” would be left sitting on “their” pews?
How many worship leaders would be left on the platform showing off?
How many pastors would be left standing at the pulpit?
Are you ready for Jesus to return?
“It's who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration” John 2:24 Msg Bible
