Spirit of Worship

“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord. All the families of the nations will worship before Him”.   Psalms 22:27  NLV

Worship that is performed out of habit; routine and in a certain order whereby people do not enter into a spirit of worship is mocking God.

Sometimes people can be affected by the sound of the music and think themselves to be very religious.   It is very common for people to become emotional over the singing and the music and feel they are religious.

People can cry during worship, get lost in their emotions and become self-righteously satisfied in such feelings, and be an impenitent sinner and a mockery of God.

Some people can live in sin all day and have no desire to change, then sit down and sing worship----praises to God and still not be changed!

Others can live in a state of deception…..never giving their hearts to God and still sing worship.

What can be a more horrible mockery than for man with a wicked heart to sing such expressions of love to God and not mean it….it is only words spoken as a form of godliness.

For some singing pleases them rather than praying and reading God’s Word.  They will amuse themselves by singing because they have a talent to do so and yet go on in their worldly----sinful indulgences; but they have no heart to pray.

Singing as such will often times quench and grieve the Holy Spirit.

If the heart does not mean what the lips express, you mock God!

“But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.  The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.   For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”    John 4:23-24 NLT
