“….. Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever”. I Chr. 28:9 NLT
A perfect heart is an undivided heart, a heart that is fully and completely devoted to the Lord. God searches all of our hearts and He knows whether or not we have a perfect heart. If your heart is not right with God, it is never too late to fix it.
“But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deut. 4:29 NIV). The heart has to do with the person. All of your heart, all of you, all of your soul─your whole being─is to be seeking God.
Give your whole heart to the pursuit of God. Do not seek Him in a half-hearted way.
According to Jeremiah 29:12-13, you will find God if you diligently seek Him; “…….you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
“… without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV). Those who seek after God with all their heart will not be disappointed.
A divided heart is an unfaithful heart. You can’t be committed to two loves at the same time. God will not share His love for you with another. He will not stand for the leftovers of our human affections.
Affections for the world, its philosophies, pleasures, and the promise of personal achievement or notoriety cannot coexist with affections for God. We are to seek after Him first, with our whole hearts.
If we do, the Psalmist tells us, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
If those desires are what are best for us, He will provide them.
